Things to do while avoiding COVID-19

March 2020

Adjusting to the ever growing list of disruptions in our daily routines and leisure activities can be difficult. By now, you should know that the Centers for Disease Control and Containment says practicing social distancing is expected to minimize the spread of COVID-19. Let’s work together to continue flattening the curve while finding creative, fun and healthy ways to practice social distancing. This list provides activities that do not include being a part of large crowds. Take this time to enjoy all of the great outdoor activities on Vandenberg SFB. You’ll get a chance to keep up all aspects of resiliency and, have fun too.

OUTDOORS

Vandenberg Space Force Base’s beaches are known to be the best kept secret on the Central Coast. While we must continue to respect the nesting habits of the Snowy Plover, this is an excellent time to explore. Take a look at the 6 beaches to escape the California crowds article for details about beaches available to those who have access to Vandenberg SFB.

Also, for those who have base access, a list of hikes is available. The hikes range from beginner to expert. Please use caution and choose the hike that best fits your fitness level.
