IST program allows qualified individuals from other military services to apply to transfer to the USSF under active duty.

    The Air Force’s first-ever Senior Enlisted Airman (SEA), Chief Master Sgt. Cherise Mosley, arrived at Space Launch Delta 30 Aug. 4. She is also the first SEA to join a Space Force Delta command team.

    U.S. Space Force’s first commander for Space System Command, Lt. Gen. Michael Guetlein visited Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Oct. 6, 2021. To start the visit with Space Launch Delta 30, Guetlein held a town hall at the Pacific Coast Club, where he discussed the expansion of the Space Force and its cyber security, past and future launches on Vandenberg, and vaccine protocols that have allowed service members, civilian workers and families to get vaccinated safely.

    The 1st Air and Space Test Squadron successfully demonstrated the capability to offload solid rocket motors using mobile rental cranes 28 March, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The 1st ASTS space maintenance technicians, along with Northrup Grumman members and their Space and Missile Systems Center counterparts at Kirtland Air Force Base, N.M., brought great credit to their field as they lifted a 138,000 pound inert Peacekeeper rocket motor safely onto a tractor trailer.
