Sparky the Fire Dog visits Child Development Center
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Children from the Vandenberg Child Development Center greet Sparky the Fire Dog here Wednesday, 12 Oct. 2011. Fire Prevention Week runs from Oct. 9-15, and the Vandenberg Fire Department has some great events lined up to promote fire safety awareness. Those events include a parade on Oct. 13 from 5 to 6:30 p.m., a Fire Muster competition Oct. 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the parade grounds here, and cooking fire demonstrations are scheduled for Oct. 15 at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. at the Vandenberg Exchange.
