Col Justin Overmyer is the Deputy Commander for Operations, Space Launch Delta 30, Vandenberg Space Force Base, California. In this role, he leads SLD 30’s mission operations and is responsible for managing integrated launch and test range operations across the Western Range’s 184 square miles. He oversees and synchronizes the daily activities of over 2,000 government personnel to ensure Space Access for the nation from the western continental United States.
Col Overmyer commissioned in 2005 through the ROTC program at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Arizona. He has served in space system research and development, sustainment, launch vehicle mission assurance, satellite-to-launch system integration and launch operations roles. In his previous assignment, he served as the Chief and Acting System Program Director for the Battle Management Division, System Delta 85, Space Systems Command, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. In this role, he led a 600-member program office team responsible for delivering Battle Management, Command, Control, Space Intelligence, and Missile Warning capabilities to the Combined Space Operations Center, National Space Defense Center, NORAD Cheyenne Mountain Complex, Space Force Components and Combatant Commands.
