As part of Military Saves Weeks 2018, scheduled for Feb. 26 to Mar. 9, Airman & Family Readiness Center is spreading the saving message, urging the community to participate in Military Saves Weeks and take the Military Saves Pledge.

“Military Saves Weeks is a great opportunity to help service members and their families in our community to set a goal, make a plan, and save automatically,” said Sue Voshell, financial readiness manager at A&FRC.

To encourage savings and investing, the Vandenberg Airman and Family Readiness Center is partnering with CoastHills Credit Union, Internal Revenue Service, Scholarship Foundation of Santa Barbara, Military and Family Life Consultants, Zeiders, Inc., and other local financial experts, all providing a wealth of information for financial health.

Airman & Family Readiness Center is offering a number of free events as part of the ‘Weeks’ to help people build wealth, not debt.

Events include: Retirement Planning, Matri-Money, Teens: Road to Riches!, Estate Planning, Home Buying Seminar, Developing Your Spending Plan, Debt Repayment Strategies, Funding Your Higher Education, Financial Communication for Couples, Let’s Talk Taxes and Investment Strategies.

An added dividend for Active Duty members and their families is the services of Nadia Fernandez, certified financial planner, available for one-on-one consulting appointments.

With the motto of “Start Small, Think BIG”, Military Saves Week stresses the importance for Airmen to get in the mindset early of saving money, reducing debt, and building wealth. Airmen and civilians are also invited to sign the Military Saves Pledge, at www.Militarysaves.org.

To sign up for Military Saves Weeks classes or consulting appointment, contact the A&FRC at 805-606-0039. For specific times and dates, call or go to the 30FSS.com website, to Airman & Family Readiness Center, Finances.
