Combined Federal Campaign at Vandenberg

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --
Through this holiday season, members of Team Vandenberg will seek donations for the 2019 Combined Federal Campaign, here, Nov. 26 through Jan. 4, 2018.
Pledges made during the campaign will support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
According to the official CFC website, https://cfcgiving.opm.gov, the CFC is the world's largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year.
“The CFC is a federal program that facilitates charitable giving within all federal workplaces,” said Tech. Sgt. Michael Ramirez, 30th Logistic Readiness Squadron, production manager. “It has been around for 57 years and to date has raised $8.3 billion during its existence. It is an outstanding opportunity to make a huge difference in the lives of those less fortunate or for wildlife preservation. There are thousands of different charities to choose from.”
Donating to the charity of one’s choosing has become even more feasible – as participants can give in a variety of ways.
“All federal employees, military members, USPS employees, federal contractors and federal retirees are eligible to give through the CFC,” Tech. Sgt. Joseph Stauble, 30th LRS section chief. “There are two ways members can donate. First is the paper pledge form. Federal employees and retirees can have a payroll deduction or a onetime check donation. Contractors can only donate through a one-time check through paper pledge. Another way is through online donations at www.southerncalcfc.org. Federal employees can donate online through payroll deduction or credit/debit card. Contractors can only donate via credit card, debit card or online check.”
