Christina Thammasen, 30th Force Support Squadron family advocacy outreach manager, educates children as part of Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, April 1, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. It is a tradition that Vandenberg Youth Programs and the Family Advocacy Program come together to honor our military youth as well as highlight the important role everyone plays in serving children in the community.

Pinwheels for Prevention

As part of Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, Vandenberg AFB is supporting the dissemination of information throughout the month through a variety of events, such as Pinwheels for Prevention activity, April 1, 2019 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. The Family Advocacy Program and Youth Center kicked off the month by hosting a Pinwheels for Prevention activity where military-connected youth planted pinwheels in front of the Youth Center.

Pinwheels for Prevention

Two children from Vandenberg AFB participate in the Pinwheel for Prevention activity April 1, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. As part of Month of the Military Child and Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month, Vandenberg AFB will be holding several trainings throughout the month of April dedicated to educating victim advocates, teachers, counselors, and care providers about the risk factors and warning signs of child abuse.
