VAFB puts procedures in place to protect personnel


As a preventive measure a public health emergency was declared for Vandenberg AFB by Col. Anthony Mastalir, 30th Space Wing commander, Friday, March 20.

This is in line with the State of California and Santa Barbara County declaration of a public health emergency.

"We are taking proactive steps to protect the health and safety of our personnel in accordance with guidance from the Department of Defense, Centers for Disease Control, and state and local officials," said Col. Anthony Mastalir, 30th Space Wing commander. "We are implementing prudent procedures and policies designed to protect the people while also ensuring our ability to carry out our national security mission."

There are currently no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Vandenberg AFB.
