Three Vandenberg Airmen compete in 2011 Marine Corps Marathon
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Three Vandenberg Airmen competed in the 36th Annual Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C., Oct. 30.
At 8 a.m. on the day before Halloween, Col. Michael Wasson, 614th Air and Space Operations Center combat operations division chief, Chief Master Sgt. Alex Escarcega, the 9th Space Operations Squadron superintendent, and 1st Lt. Jason Brosseau, from the 2nd Range Operations Squadron, competed against more than 30,000 runners from all 50 states and 54 countries in the annual 26.2-mile footrace through the streets of the nation's capitol.

Last year, one of Vandenberg's intercontinental ballistic missile students, 2nd Lt. Jacob Bradosky, from the 392nd Training Squadron, led the pack and finished first overall at the 35th Marine Corps Marathon with the unofficial time of 2:23:30.
