Lompoc chamber to host free military appreciation barbecue
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Lompoc Chamber of Commerce is scheduled to host the annual Airmen's Appreciation Barbecue at Cocheo Park here from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 12.
The barbecue is free to all military members and family members of deployed personnel.
The Lompoc Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee hosts this barbecue annually to say thank you to the servicemembers at Vandenberg.
"It is a tradition at the chamber to host the Airman's Appreciation Barbecue," said Alice Milligan, the Chamber's Military Affairs chairman. "It is our way to show our appreciation to our military."
The Non-Commissioned Officers Association will serve tri-tip steak and the Vandenberg Top 3 will provide funnel cakes. There will also be a bounce house provided by the 1st Sergeants' Association.
