AOC member found dead

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Staff Sgt. Rory S. Berg, 25, assigned to the 614th Air and Space Operations Center, was found dead at his residence in Lompoc, Calif., on the morning of April 18, 2011. The cause of Sergeant Berg's death is still under investigation.

Sergeant Berg was an active-duty space weather forecaster. He enlisted into the Air Force in September 2005 from his home town of Pueblo, Colo. He was awarded the Air Force Achievement Medal.

"Every Airman is an important part of our Air Force family," said Col. Christopher Moss, 614th Air and Space Operations Center commander. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Sergeant Berg's family. His death is a very tragic event for all of us, and we are all experiencing this sorrow together."
