Vandenberg set to host Earth Day event

VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 30th Civil Engineer Squadron Asset Management Flight here is scheduled to host Vandenberg's 11th Annual Earth Day Event in the lawn area outside of the base library from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on April 20.

The event will focus on educating the Vandenberg populace about the base organizations that continuously demonstrate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices on a daily basis.

Organizations base-wide are encouraged to participate in this outdoor festival to display their pollution prevention programs and outreach materials. Electricity and water are available upon request for the participating organizations booths.

Other than the presentations by the 30th CES Asset Management Flight and other participating organizations, the Earth Day event activities include an e-waste collection, rock climbing wall, live animal exhibits, inflatable obstacle course, and plant giveaways. Local strawberries and produce will also be available.
