New guidance regarding driving on base
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Recent trends regarding 1) cell phone use/texting while driving and 2) not using seatbelts are alarming. I'm currently working on a detailed policy letter, but in the interim I'm issuing the following guidance. Effective immediately, anyone violating Presidential Executive Orders or Department of Defense and Air Force Instructions regarding these activities will be subject to the following consequences:
- First offense. Up to a 30-day revocation of base driving privileges
- Second offense (within one year). Up to a 6-month revocation of base driving privileges
- Third offense (within one year). Up to a 1-year revocation of base driving privileges
