Colonel Lutton takes command of 381st TRG

Col. Michael Lutton assumed command of the 381st Training Group from Col. Reni Renner in a change-of-command ceremony here July 7.

Maj. Gen. Mary Kay Hertog, commander of 2nd Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss., presided over the change of command ceremony, held at the 381st TRG flag pole.

Colonel Lutton, who previously served as commander of the 328th Weapons Squadron at Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., said he was inspired by the 381st TRG's professionalism.

"I look forward to working with a group with such dedication and pride," said Colonel Lutton. "I hope to remain worthy of leading this group."

As the new 381st TRG commander, Colonel Lutton will be responsible for four units, the 381st Training Support Squadron, 392nd Training Squadron, 532nd Training Squadron and 533rd Training Squadron.

The 381st TRG provides qualification training for intercontinental ballistic missiles, space surveillance, missile warning, spacelift, and satellite command and control operators. The group also conducts qualification and orientation training for Air Force Space Command staff and senior-level personnel, as well as instructor enhancement in support of operational units.

The 381st TRG is assigned to the 2nd Air Force, Keesler Air Force Base, Miss.
