The 14th Air Force and 30th Space Wing are scheduled to hold the annual Wingman Day on Dec. 4 here.

The day will kick off with an opening ceremony at the parade grounds here at 7 a.m., followed immediately by the 10K Wingman Run.

After the run, individual units will conduct breakout sessions to discuss topics such as suicide awareness, Air Force Core Values, and drug and alcohol awareness. The uniform of the day during breakout sessions is official Air Force physical training gear.

"The success of the day rests on engaging with other Airmen and placing special emphasis on the importance of identifying risk factor behavior," said Maj. Jennifer Vecchione, the event coordinator. "A great Wingman recognizes unhealthy behavior in their fellow Airmen and has the fortitude to get them the right help."

Wingman Day will conclude with a wing gathering starting at 2 p.m. at Cocheo Park here. Units and individuals will bring their own food, although ice cream is provided. Information booths will be available throughout the park, including booths from Airman & Family Readiness, Family Advocacy and the Health and Wellness Center. Entertainment will also be provided, including a human foosball competition and obstacle course.

"Wingman Day is designed to facilitate one-on-one communication and social connections critical to Airmen knowing their fellow Airmen," Major Vecchione said. "The Wingman concept is more than just an event; it's a culture focused on Airmen taking care of Airmen 24/7, 365 days a year."
