TRICARE customer currently paying TRICARE Prime enrollment fees will soon be required to change the way they make payments.
As early as 2010, TRICARE Prime beneficiaries who pay enrollment fees will be required to make their payments electronically. When these changes become effective, TRICARE will only accept check payments to ensure the first payment is made while the beneficiary's electronic payments are established.
By making the change now, beneficiaries can avoid disenrollment because of a late payment, as well as track payment history online, anytime.
Options to begin automating electronic payments today include an allotment from the sponsor's retired military pay or an electronic funds transfer from the sponsor's financial institution established directly to TriWest.
Those beneficiaries who are already making their TRICARE Prime enrollment fee payments electronically have no actions to take, unless they are signed up for their bank's online bill pay. This may mean a physical check is cut from the bank and mailed to TriWest. To be compliant for TRICARE's electronic requirement, beneficiaries would need to redirect the EFT directly to TriWest, following a few simple steps.
To register, log on to www.triwest.com/epay
and choose either option:
Registered users can log on to www.triwest.com. Non-registered users can create an account at www.triwest.com and receive a password within minutes. Once registered, users must click on "Make a Payment" and provide the information required for whichever payment option they choose (allotment or EFT).
Go to www.triwest.com
and select "Find A Form" from the Quick Links section to download and print an allotment or EFT form. Complete the form, sign and mail it with the initial fee payment to:

Beneficiaries who relocate to another TRICARE region will want to follow similar steps with the TRICARE contractor for that region, as all regional TRICARE contractors will be required to implement this change on behalf of the Department of Defense.
