VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Army and Air Force Exchange gas station is scheduled to close from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 25 for required environmental testing.
Only the gas pumps will close, as fuel cannot be dispensed during the testing; the Car Care Center will remain open.
The biannual test, which occurs in accordance with California law, ensures the pumps do not emit hazardous fumes into the air, said Dot Gullo, the AAFES Car Care Center manager. Santa Barbara County officials will oversee the testing.
For further information, call Ms. Gullo at (805) 734-0967 or Kimberlee Harding, a 30th Civil Engineer Squadron environmental protection specialist, at 606-6863.
