Military members invited to Appreciation Barbecue
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Lompoc Chamber of Commerce will host the annual Airmen's Appreciation Barbecue at Cocheo Park here from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 17.
The event is free and open to all Vandenberg military members, active duty, Guard and Reserve members. The family members of deployed personnel are also invited.
The Lompoc Chamber of Commerce Military Affairs Committee, which has hosted this event for approximately 20 years, said this is event is a way to say thank you to servicemembers at Vandenberg for their service to the nation.
"It's our way of showing appreciation to our military," said Alice Milligan, the Chamber's Military Affairs chairman.
Members of the Chamber will serve tri-tip steak and hot dogs. The Vandenberg Top 3 will provide funnel cakes and music and the Vandenberg's Air Force Sergeants' Association will provide a bounce house for children.
