New system makes in-processing easier for Airmen
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- PCS In-Processing System, a new on-line in-processing system, has been implemented Air Force-wide as of April 1.
PIPS currently supports most permanent change of station moves but does not have the functionality to cover accessions or a civilian PCS.
The URL to be used effective April 1 is
https://efinanceworkspace.wpafb.af.mil/govwarning.aspx.
PIPS is designed to automate and streamline in-processing. Airmen who arrive at Vandenberg will no longer have to wait for the finance brief to file vouchers. The initial in-processing steps includes ensuring a member's common access card is assigned to Vandenberg, a computer account is established with their computer systems administrator, and Airmen will log onto PIPS and file their PCS voucher.
A test Web site is available to allow Airmen to see what the system will look like at https://afkm.wpafb.af.mil/ASPs/CoP/OpenCoP.asp?Filter=AF-FM-FH-03. After going to the site, select tools and PIPS will be on the left-hand side.
Self-help computers will be available in the finance lobby to assist those that prefer to work directly with finance experts.
