The Secretary of the Defense will speak to Airmen at Peterson AFB, Colo., on June 10.

The entirety of the speech will be broadcast live on the Pentagon Channel at 8:30 a.m. MDT. Check local listings for Pentagon Channel availability.

Secretary Robert Gates plans to speak to Air Force Space Command senior leaders, senior NCOs, and senior civilians to reinforce his message that the Air Force must apply more rigor to its responsibilities with nuclear weapons.

Secretary Gates is traveling to selected bases across the country following the resignation of the Air Force's top two leaders. Peterson and the other bases Secretary Gates will visit share responsibility for the three main elements of the Air Force's nuclear force: bombers, land-based intercontinental ballistic missile fleet and aerial tankers used to refuel the bombers.
