VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Space Launch Delta 30, the Santa Maria Valley and Lompoc Valley Chambers of Commerce are partnering to present the 2025 State of Vandenberg event, scheduled March 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and the Pacific Coast Center at Vandenberg Space Force Base.
This event offers an opportunity to gain an understanding of the diverse operations and initiatives taking place at Vandenberg.
U.S. Space Force Col. Mark Shoemaker, Space Launch Delta 30 commander, will be joined by U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Douglas Schiess, Commander Space Forces – Space, and Combined Joint Force Space Component Commander, U.S. Space Force Col. Justin Sorice, Delta 5 commander, U.S. Space Force Col. Peter Norsky, Delta 1 commander, and U.S. Air Force Col. Dustin Harmon, 377th Test and Evaluation Group commander, to provide mission overviews and highlight key accomplishments from the past year while outlining expectations for the upcoming year.
"The State of Vandenberg serves as a bridge, enhancing mutual understanding between our government personnel and the community," Shoemaker said. “This event goes beyond information sharing; it's about fostering dialogue, exchanging updates, and building a connected community through shared awareness.”
The State of Vandenberg was born out of an interest in increased engagement in the mid-2010s and was initially named the Joint Chambers of Commerce Luncheon, then later renamed as the State of Vandenberg. The luncheon, hosted by the Lompoc Valley and Santa Maria Valley Chambers of Commerce, provides community members the opportunity to hear directly from the Space Launch Delta 30 commander on priorities and a projection of what is to come.
