U.S. Air Force Col. Dorian Hatcher, left, Space Launch Delta 30 deputy commander, left, presents Vandenberg’s Aquila Innovation award to Staff Sgt. Keith Salisbury, right, 30th Contracting Squadron contract specialist, during a weekly installation leadership meeting at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Dec. 21, 2025. Each month, the Aquila Innovation award is granted to an outstanding Guardian, Airman, or government civilian, highlighting their innovative processes, workplace achievements, and contributions made to Vandenberg’s space and test launch missions.

Salisbury established innovative munitions disposition methods on base, collaborating with mission partners to safely dispose of 26 aerospace components, eliminating environmental impacts to Vandenberg and limiting cross-country transportations.
