Vandenberg Supports Evening Launch of the Starlink 17-42 Mission

A Falcon 9 rocket carrying the Starlink 17-42 mission launched from Space Launch Complex 4 East at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., May 19, 2026.

Guardians and Airmen at Space Launch Delta 30’s 2nd Range Operations Squadron, 30th Operations Support Squadron, 30th Security Forces Squadron and safety office provided range operations, weather analysis, physical security and law enforcement, and launch safety support to the Starlink 17-42 mission, helping to ensure successful orbital insertion of the mission’s 24 Starlink satellite payload.

The Starlink 17-42 mission marked the 33rd launch and test mission from the Vandenberg Spaceport and Test Range in 2026.
