VANDENBERG SPACE FORCE BASE, Calif. -- U.S. Air Force Gen. S. L. Davis, commander of Air Force Global Strike Command, visited Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., May 20, 2026, to engage with Airmen and Guardians supporting the nation’s strategic deterrence mission. Throughout the visit, Davis met with personnel across multiple units to discuss readiness, training and modernization efforts supporting Air Force Global Strike Command priorities.
Davis received mission briefings and toured operational and training facilities supporting the development of the next generation of global strike Airman and capabilities. Guardians and Airmen had the opportunity to engage directly with senior leadership, ask questions about the future of the force and discuss the evolving mission requirements shaping AFGSC strategic deterrence operations.
The visit highlighted Vandenberg’s role in supporting test, training and modernization initiatives critical to national defense. Davis also recognized personnel for their contributions to mission success and emphasized the importance of developing highly trained Airmen and Guardians prepared to support the future fight.
