VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Message to all base housing residents:
Base housing is NOT at risk from the fire on North Base.
Crews are actively battling the fire on North Base. As of right now, the fire appears to have been started by a downed power line and is not associated with the Canyon Fire on South Base.
The fire is outside the housing area and winds are pushing the fire south, which is further away from housing.
For tonight and tomorrow, winds are forecasted to continue to push the fire south and further from housing.
As updates become available they will be posted to www.vandenberg.af.mil.
