Team V volunteer for the Santa Barbara County Veterans Stand Down
SANTA MARIA , Calif. – Mr. Lawrence Hill, 30th Space Wing Community Relations chief, plays “Taps” on the trumpet during the Santa Barbara County Veterans Stand Down at the Santa Maria Fairgrounds here Saturday, Oct. 13. 2012. The Veterans Stand Down was organized to provide a single place for homeless and nearly-homeless veterans to receive a wide variety of personal assistance. At least 250 veterans benefited from the services which included hot showers, haircuts, new clothing, medical and dental check-ups, financial assistance, legal services, family support, Department of Veterans Affairs information and much more. More than 80 Airmen from Vandenberg Air Force Base volunteered to work the event. (Courtesy Photo)
