Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz presents retired Gen. Thomas S. Moorman Jr. (center) with the Gen. James E. Hill Lifetime Space Achievement Award April 18, 2012, at the 28th National Space Symposium in Colorado Springs, Colo. With them is Martin Faga, chairman of the board for the Space Foundation. The award is the highest honor bestowed by the Space Foundation, a nonprofit organization that supports the global space industry through information and education programs. When he retired in August 1997, Moorman was Air Force vice chief of staff. He previously served as Air Force Space Command commander and vice commander. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt.
