VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Richard Thackston recognizes names of Medal of Honor recipients at the Missile Heritage memorial here on Nov. 30. Mr. Thackton was a B-17 Flying Fortress pilot in World War II, and flew more than 30 missions over Europe. He visitied Vandenberg to receive a U.S. presidential letter of appreciation.
