VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – Ruby and Janet Cacy, widow and daughter of U.S. Army former Staff Sgt. July 27, 1953 marked the end of the Korean conflict, it has been almost 60 years since Ruby stepped foot onto Vandenberg Air Force Base, which was still operating as Camp Cook when she and her husband were previously stationed here.
