614th AOC consolidation
U.S. Air Force Col. Keith W. Balts, commander, 30th Space Wing and Col. Patrice Melancon, 614th Air Operations Center, 14th Air Force (Air Forces Strategic) and Joint Functional Component Command for Space headquarters consolidation program manager, turned over control of Building 7015 on Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., to Mr. Tony Strickroth, senior project manager for the Gilbane Corporation, the construction and renovation contractor for the consolidation project, Nov. 3, 2014. The 614th AOC, 14 AF and JFCC Space consolidation project will provide a more effective and resilient mission platform for the Joint Space Operations Center, while also co-locating the 14 AF and JFCC Space headquarters elements with their operations center, improving the synergistic delivery of global space effects.
