Brazilian Air Force visits Vandenberg

Brazilian Air Force Maj. Gen. Jose Vital, Vice President – Commission of Coordination and Implementation of Space Systems, and Col. Curtis Hernandez, 30th Operations Group commander pose for a photo in the Western Range Operations Control Center, Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif., Dec. 18, 2018. During the visit Brazilian space officials also received tours of Space Launch Complex-4, the Combined Space Operations Center, and mission briefings from the Joint Force Space Component Command, CSpOC, and 18th Space Control Squadron. The tours, briefings and subsequent discussions highlighted a range of topics, to include tactical and national security objectives in space, Space Surveillance Network operations, Space Situational Awareness data sharing, conjunction notifications, exercises and future space security cooperation between the U.S. and Brazil.
