Brazilian Air Force visits Vandenberg

Col. Scott Brodeur, Director, Combined Space Operations Center (CSpOC), discusses space operations and capabilities with Brazilian Air Force Maj. Gen. Jose Vital, Vice President – Commission of Coordination and Implementation of Space Systems, during a tour of the CSpOC at Vandenberg AFB, Calif., Dec. 18, 2018. During the visit Brazilian space officials also received tours of Space Launch Complex-4, the Western Range Operations Control Center, and mission briefings from the Joint Force Space Component Command, CSpOC, and 18th Space Control Squadron. The tours, briefings and subsequent discussions highlighted a range of topics, to include tactical and national security objectives in space, Space Surveillance Network operations, Space Situational Awareness data sharing, conjunction notifications, exercises and future space security cooperation between the U.S. and Brazil.
