VAFB POW/MIA opening ceremony
Service members gather during the POW/MIA Opening Ceremony Sept. 16, 2019, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Displayed at the ceremony was the missing person table. The table is round to represent the everlasting concern the survivors have for the missing. One or more head covers may be placed upon the table, representing the armed service of the missing persons. Also, the table is adorned with a white tablecloth to symbolize the pure intentions of the service members who responded to the country's call to arms.
