VAFB Hotshots at Work

Vandenberg Hotshots cut a line during a controlled fire Sept. 18, 2019 at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. Hotshots are an elite small crew of wildland firefighters who have been trained to deal with fires in remote regions where other support is unavailable to assist. They don’t carry water to fight fire; they use shovels and chainsaws, dig lines, and cut down trees to contain the brushfire. (U.S. Air Force photo by Airman 1st Class Aubree Milks)
