Prepared for the pandemic; Masks across VAFB
Senior Airman Zachary Contreras and Airman 1st Class Kyle Young, 30th Security Forces Squadron temporary conservation patrolmen, put away equipment after a horse patrol May 20, 2020, at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Vandenberg’s conservation unit has increased their hours and workload in order to keep up with the influx of people participating in recreational activities across the installation. Along with installation beaches, the unit patrols public beaches, which potentially increases their exposure to those not wearing masks, which is a current base requirement.
