Truly resilient; an Airman’s battle with cancer
Tech. Sgt. Josef Margetiak, 614th Air Operations section chief, poses for a photo with his family Catherine and KIan. In late 2018, Margetiak was diagnosed with testicular seminoma while serving in the U.S. Air Force at Joint Base Hickam. He underwent a radical orchiectomy to remove the cancer, but ultimately the cancer re-appeared in late 2019. Margetiak went through 20 rounds of radiation therapy to get rid of the cancer. Despite his battle with cancer, he continues to serve in the U.S. Air Force at Vandenberg Air Force Base, Calif. (Courtesy photo)
