Akil Davis, FBI Los Angeles Field Office, Assistant Director in Charge, receives a brief from U.S. Space Force Lt. Gen. Douglas A. Schiess, U.S. Space Forces-Space (S4S) commander and Combined Joint Force Space Component commander, during a visit to the S4S headquarters and Combined Space Operations Center at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Aug. 13, 2024. The Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Detachment 804 hosted the group, which consisted of local and regional FBI and OSI members, highlighting VSFB’s importance to national security when it comes to the test and evaluation of the ICBM and the United States Space Force launch enterprise and global space operations. Interagency partnerships are essential for sharing threat information and increasing the strength and resilience of the U.S. space architecture, especially in the face of growing threats from strategic competitors like China and Russia.
