A crane supports stage stacking of a Northrop Grumman Minotaur IV rocket in preparation for a launch from Space Launch Complex 8 at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., Mar 23, 2026. The Minotaur IV rocket uses solid rocket motor components from decommissioned LGM-118 Peacekeeper ICBMs and is utilized by the USSF for small spacelift operations. This Minotaur IV rocket will support Space Systems Command’s Space Test Program 29A (STP-S29A), carrying a variety of Department of War, U.S. Space Force and academic institution payloads.
