Tanner Hamson, Vandenberg Fire Team responder, utilizes a portable radio to coordinate and collaborate in putting the fire out during a wildfire response at Vandenberg Space Force Base, Calif., April 3, 2026. Hamson worked with his teammates to reduce the impact of the fire. Vandenberg Fire Department successfully coordinated a multi-agency effort, alongside Lompoc Fire Department, Santa Barbara Fire Department, and Los Padres National Forest Dispatch to contain the spread of the fire.
