Vandenberg SFB presents 4th Mission Update in Ojai
OJAI, Calif. – Dr. Kent Gee, professor of physics and chair of the department of physics and astronomy at Brigham Young University, discusses findings relating to his study of sonic boom impacts on communities surrounding Vandenberg Space Force Base as part of the fourth and final planned Mission Update event held June 22, 2026, in the Kent Hall council chambers in Ojai, California. Mission Update is Vandenberg Space Force Base's travelling town hall designed specifically to obtain community feedback on base operations while sharing information about the base’s critical role in keeping America’s strategic advantage in space, increasing launch activity, and the science of rocket-induced sonic booms. Space Launch Delta 30 supports more than 54 mission partners from Vandenberg Space Force Base while serving as a key hub for the command and control of space assets around the globe.
