Vandenberg Unveils Food Donation Center
Emily Casarez, 30th Medical Group Health Promotion Team manager, speaks to a visitor at a new community space managed by base chapel volunteers dedicated for the purposes of distributing donated groceries to families in need at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, Aug. 10, 2026. Casarez is a part of Vandenberg’s Health Promotion Team, which engages with the base community to spread awareness about proper nutrition, emphasizing its distinct relationship to warfighter fitness and readiness. The space, located at the former child development center across from the base chapel, will facilitate the collection and distribution of donations to enhance the welfare, morale, and readiness of members of the base community, to include Airmen, Guardians, federal civilians and their families.
