Military members and civilian first responders stand for the national anthem during a Sept. 11 Remembrance Ceremony at Vandenberg Space Force Base, California, Sept. 11, 2026. The ceremony marked the 25th anniversary of the 2001 terrorist attacks, honoring the 412 first responders who lost their lives in the line of duty. Attendees observed emergency service prayers, a symbolic 13-fold flag presentation, and a traditional fire department bell ceremony to commemorate the fallen.
