The 30th Space Wing, along with partner units on base, will hold a Sexual Assault Prevention and Response stand-down day here Jun. 20.

According to a memorandum sent out Jun. 10 from Gen. William Shelton, Air Force Space Command commander, every AFSPC unit will stand down for an entire day between the dates of Jun. 17 to Jun 28.

"We are taking this issue of sexual assault very seriously and have set aside the entire day to focus on a culture of inclusion, trust, dignity and respect for all Airmen," said Col. Keith Balts, 30th Space Wing commander. "Mission critical events will continue, but the vast majority of military and civilian members will be able to fully participate."

SAPR stand-down day events include messages from commanders, small group discussions, and courses dealing with healthy relationships, interpersonal communication, stress management, and sexual harassment.
