Vandenberg scheduled to launch Taurus XL Published Feb. 16, 2011 By 040211 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A Taurus XL is scheduled to launch from 576-E here Feb. 23 at 2:09 a.m. PST. The launch vehicle will place the NASA spacecraft Glory into polar orbit and a secondary payload carrying educational small satellites for California Polytechnic State University. The Taurus XL is a four-stage rocket built by Orbital Sciences Corporation. Col. Richard Boltz, 30th Space Wing commander, is the launch decision authority.
