VANDENBERG HONORS FALLEN WITH ‘A RUN TO REMEMBER’

Vandenberg Air Force Base will kick-off it's second annual Run to Remember Oct. 19 at 5:30 a.m. on the base track. 

A Run to Remember allows active duty military members, civilians, contractors and retirees to run a mile for each service member who fell in the line of duty in support of Operations Iraqi and Enduring Freedom. 

Running takes place Mondays through Fridays, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Nov. 10. On Nov. 10, the run will go 24 hours finishing with a formation run that will end at 11 a.m. in front of the 14th Air Force headquarters building here. 

Lt. Gen. Larry James, the commander of the 14th Air Force and the Joint Functional Component Command for Space, will kick-off the 19 day event as the first runner. Family and friends of local fallen military members will also attend.
