Vandenberg leadership offers beach access solution Published Sept. 14, 2007 By 030907 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 30th Space Wing is meeting today with Santa Barbara County officials on a proposal developed by the 30th Space Wing that would allow pedestrian access to county property adjacent to Pt Sal State Beach. Our proposed agreement, crafted with consideration of the known property rights of the area, will meet the security and safety needs of the base while allowing for a county maintained hiking trail on Brown Road through base property. Pedestrian access will be restored when 30th Space Wing and Santa Barbara County sign a formal agreement.
