Time capsule emplacement set Published Sept. 10, 2007 By 020907 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Col. Steve Tanous, 30th Space Wing commander, and members of the Air Force 60th Anniversary Committee will emplace a time capsule Tuesday at 4 p.m. at Vandenberg's Heritage Park. The emplacement is in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the U.S. Air Force and the 25th anniversary of Air Force Space Command. The capsule will contain a variety of current Vandenberg objects including unit patches and pictures, as well as a letter from Colonel Tanous to the wing commander in 2032. -30- MEDIA ADVISORY: Media planning to cover this event should call Staff Sgt.
