Missile defense declares "no test" Published May 30, 2007 By 100507 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A Missile Defense Agency (MDA) interceptor launch from North Vandenberg was declared a "no test" at 7:15 a.m. today. A no-test occurs when there is a target failure or other anomaly not connected with the interceptor, and intercept test cannot be conducted. The abort followed a non-nominal MDA target vehicle launch from Kodiak, Alaska. "Although we did not complete the mission, we will gather vital information to use for future launches," said Col. Michael Fortney, 30th Space Wing vice commander and spacelift commander for this mission. A MDA team is investigating the target missile anomaly. Further information will be released as it becomes available. News media point of contact with MDA is Rick Lehner, Missile Defense Agency at 703-697-8997, or via E-mail at richard.lehner@mda.mil.
