MISSILE DEFENSE TEST COMPLETED Published Jan. 28, 2016 By 040116 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A Ground-Based Interceptor, an element of the nation's Ground-based Midcourse Defense system, was launched as part of a non intercept test from North Vandenberg today, Jan. 28, 2016, at 1:57 p.m. PST by the 30th Space Wing, the U.S. Missile Defense Agency, and U.S. Northern Command. Col. Shane Clark, 30th Space Wing vice commander, was the Launch Decision Authority. "Both the 30th Space Wing and the Missile Defense Agency worked hard to get the team ready for this test" said Clark. "Today's launch is testament to the professionalism of all involved and the close relationships we have with our missile defense partners."
