VANDENBERG BEACHES NOW OPEN Published Sept. 25, 2015 By 030915 VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Vandenberg beaches are now open for recreational access. Western snowy plover season has officially ended; all plovers chicks have fledged. VAFB's Beach Management Plan states the base can open beaches prior to 30 Sep if all plovers chicks have fledged. However, the following restrictions still apply during the winter season: -- All pets must be on a leash on all VAFB beaches -- No camping or campfires
